I Bought, I Read, I Loved

If you’re looking for last minute book purchases to please a woman in your life (including yourself), this is my current list of romance favorites.

Louise Behiel uses her psychology background to create characters with interesting conflicts. I enjoyed both Family Lies and Family Ties.

In my opinion, whether historical or contemporary, nobody does cowboys like Linda Lael Miller. She has cool videos of cover shoots on her website. You can find all her books at the Harlequin website.

If it’s sexy you’re looking for, check out Robin Covington. Her Boys are Back in Town series is some hot fun. I’ve got her Secret Santa Baby on my wish list.

Laura Kaye writes just about any type of romance that tickles your fancy, contemporary, fantasy, paranormal. My faves are her sexy Heros.

Anything written by Robyn Carr makes me heave a happy sigh. I have every book in her Virgin River series. She’s got a whole batch of new releases.

In the Christmas spirit, my critique partners, Helen Scott Taylor and Mona Risk have two stories that will warm your heart; A Family for Christmas and Christmas Babies, respectively.

If you know someone who’s into quirky witty Young Adult, you can pre-order for summer reading The Reluctant Reaper Series by my good friend Gina X Grant. I’ve had the privilege of reading these and chuckled all the way through.

That’s my recommendation list for now. I’ll post again as I read more books. Happy reading!

Do have some favourites to add to my list?

  1. Great recommends, Joan. Thanks. Robyn Covington has been on the TBR list for a while, and each time I see her name, she bumps a little closer to the top. If I might add this year’s top read, for me: Sharon Clare’s Love of Her Lives. Yes, she’s my critique partner, and that’s all the more reason to believe my gushing, yes gushing, is sincere. My reputation is riding on this. So excited to have her new book, Rhapsody, pre-ordered. Christmas is early this year.

  2. Thanks for the shout-out, Joan. Book 2 is coming your way in a few days. Get that red pencil ready!

With regard to other suggestions, not romances per se, but I just added a list of books I enjoyed to my website, so if you like weird, fun, books with strong characters, and usually a strong love story, check ’em out, here: http://ginaxgrant.wordpress.com/books-i-like/
